Why do i have to Pump the gas to start car in cold?
You should never need to do that with an injected vehicle, and if it's not injected you might just need to adjust the choke.when you say "pump the gas" I assume you have a carbureted engine. The action of pumping cause the acceleration pump to put extra fuel into the intake manifold for cold weather starting. You may want to look at your choke system to insure it is closing when the engine gets cold. Theoretically you should only have to push down on the accelerator pedal one time to set fast idle speed, however as engines age,especially carburetted engines, carbon build up on the intake valves does not allow for proper atomization of the fuel in colder weather so it takes a few extra shots to accomplish this.
