her parents were mixed black,native American, and white so shes mixed but identifies as black.

She is a light skinned black American. Throughout black history all blacks have been partially mixed with European & Native American. In the old days they used to tell the lighter skinned blacks to marry each other because it was thought they would do better in society. As a result some blacks are just very light but not necessarily any more or less mixed than the average black American. Lena Horne's parents do not have a known fully white parent and always lived in upper class black communities.
