Question

I am unmarried and I have filed Paternity Acknowledgment and Acknowledgment of Legitimation for my son at the time of his birth. The paperwork was filed with the state of Georgia, and I now have my son's birth certificate showing me as his father. But I have not went through the courts. Do I have any legal rights what so ever over my son?

Answer

If you want visitation or custody, you need to get a lawyer and file a case for it.

Answer

You will need to file for custody and/or visitation. You will also be required to provide child support. I suggest retaining an attorney. I hope you have a copy of the paperwork filed.
