How did Ferdinand verbiest invent the car?
While living in China as a Jesuit missionary he designed a small steam driven vehicle for the Emperor of China. It is thought it was just a toy, being only about two feet (32cm) long but there is no proof it was ever built but drawings exist. The design was basically an orb like steam chamber with a nozzle at the top that directed steam under pressure across a simple turbine.
