In which arts forms would you hear the term a cameo performance?
The art you are refering to is drama/cinema. Most particularly this happens in television. When a famous actor or entertainer makes a guest appearance on a television program, (usually this is just a one time thing) it is called a "Cameo." One great example of this is the HBO series "Entourage." One of my favorite shows being made currently and it features many "Cameo Appearances" from a wide range of celebrities such as Val Kilmer, Bob Saget, Ralph Machio, Jaime Pressley, Jessica Alba, Anthony Michael Hall, Pauly Shore, and Scorscese, just to name a few.
