If a married couple has been separated for over one year, can the other spouse divorce on the grounds of adultery?

You can sue on any grounds. The problem is proving it. If you've been separated for over one year you could go 2 ways: 1) abandonment; or, 2) irreconiible differences with a 6 month waiver of the required 2 year separation requirement. If you want to get out of the marriage fast then file under one of the above 2 ways. If you want the whole world to know that your spouse is an adulterer, all you will do is prolong the case. No one in the whole world cares that your spouse is committing adultery except you and your family. Get out of the marriage fast, and forget the adultery charge.
