Where did book burning started?

Where did book burning started?
Probably about ten minutes after somebody published a book that some other person didn't like. Unfortunately, book burning has been around almost as long as books. The Nazis did it most famously in the 1930s, and if the religious fundamentalists here and in other countries had their way, they'd do it too. In fact, I'm sure that they have. "Catcher in the Rye" and "Huckleberry Finn" seem to be favorites of the book burning crowd. Not sure why. If they really were against bad books, they'd burn Danielle Steele and Sidney Sheldon...
